Opinion Thesis Statements

If everyone (who did not get the chance in class) could email or text me their thesis statements for their persuasive essays, then I could make sure they are acceptable before you put in all the time and effort to research.

Make sure that you and whoever your partner was are not writing to support the same claim, but rather supporting opposing ideas.

What type of writing styles would you use for each?

Persuasive Writing

Journal Prompt:

Many of us spend hours in front of our computers and communicate more by email and text messages than in person. Some people believe this is good because it helps shy people communicate more openly. Others believe it prevents us from learning interpersonal skills and limits our ability to build and have meaningful relationships. How do you feel? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

Let The Summer Begin

Hello Scholars!

I am so excited to spend the next seven weeks with you! I hope you are all ready to begin your writing journey!

We will use this blog in a variety of ways. I will post homework assignments, reminders, tips for success in the course and for strong writing, as well as links to helpful resources.
I may also post about what we are doing in class so that you can share it with your parents and friends.
Lastly, I may post pieces of your writing (with your permission) to share with others the amazing work that you are doing.

This is just the beginning to your journey of hard work, dedication, perseverance, and success!
